The G2 Contender rifle is a compact
rifle boasting the same versatility and accuracy found with
the G2 Contender pistol.
It features readily interchangeable 23" barrels, enabling
the shooter to select from 5 different cartridge options;
from 17 HMR and 22 LR Match, up to 30/30 Win or 45/70 Gov't.;
even a 45 cal muzzleloading barrel. In addition, all of the
16¼" and 21" barrels made for the old style Contender will
readily fit the new G2 frame. The high comb on the buttstock
allows the shooter's eye to be in perfect alignment when
using a scope.
Its versatility, with regards to selecting either rimfire
or centerfire barrels makes it a multi-use rifle. It's an
ideal plinker, small game and varmint rifle, and is one of
the lightest hard-hitting deer rifles there is. It's as home
in a trapper's pack basket as it is in deer camp.
...And As a “carry gun”, they don’t get any better. It
will become your favorite in any of the seasons.
With the introduction of the G2 Contender rifle, also
comes the introduction of a 209x45 muzzleloading barrel.
Converting from centerfire to a muzzleloader is as simple as
changing barrels and forends.
This much versatility in a 5½ lb package is hard to beat.
